Refund Policy

This Refund & Return Policy explains the terms and conditions for returns, exchanges, and refunds for purchases made through Pen Delights. Pen Delights specializes in vintage, collectible, discontinued, pre-owned, and New Old Stock writing instruments, many of which are unique and one-of-a-kind items. By placing an order with Pen Delights, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

Returns are accepted only if the item received is significantly different from the description or photographs provided in the listing, arrives damaged during transit, or has a functional issue that was not disclosed before purchase. Returns are not accepted for reasons such as a change of mind, personal preference, minor cosmetic signs of age, patina, surface wear, discoloration, or other characteristics that are consistent with the item's age and condition as described in the listing. All return requests must be approved by Pen Delights before the item is shipped back.

Customers must contact Pen Delights within 7 days of delivery if they believe an item qualifies for a return. The request must include the order number, a detailed explanation of the issue, and clear photographs or videos showing the concern. Return requests submitted after this period may not be accepted.

Pen Delights specializes in vintage and collectible writing instruments, and many items may show normal signs of age or previous use. These may include minor scratches, patina, discoloration, slight wear, or variations in appearance and performance. Such characteristics are part of the nature of vintage collectibles and will not be considered defects when they are disclosed in the product description. Customers are encouraged to carefully review all photographs, measurements, condition notes, and descriptions before making a purchase.

Vintage fountain pens may require cleaning, adjustment, restoration, or servicing due to their age and previous use. A pen requiring minor tuning, cleaning, or adjustment does not automatically qualify as defective. If you experience a functional issue, please contact Pen Delights before attempting any repair or modification. We will review the issue and may provide troubleshooting guidance, repair options, or determine whether the item qualifies for a return.

Customers must contact Pen Delights and receive return approval before sending any item back. Once a return is approved, the item must be securely packaged and returned with all original accessories, boxes, papers, converters, and other included items where applicable. Items returned without prior approval or returned in a condition different from when received may not be accepted.

If the return is approved because the item was incorrectly described, damaged during transit, or due to an error by Pen Delights, reasonable return shipping costs will be covered by Pen Delights. For other approved returns, the customer will be responsible for return shipping costs. Customers are encouraged to use a tracked shipping service and retain proof of shipment until the return process has been completed. Pen Delights is not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipping.

Once a returned item is received and inspected, Pen Delights will process the refund if the return is approved. Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 7 business days after completion of inspection. Refunds may exclude original shipping charges, customs duties, taxes, import fees, or return shipping costs unless the return is due to an error by Pen Delights. If an item is returned with missing accessories, additional damage, or changes in condition, any applicable deductions will be communicated before the refund is processed.

Certain items may not be eligible for return, including items marked as final sale, custom or personalized items, opened consumable products such as inks or cartridges, items damaged due to misuse or improper handling after delivery, and items returned without prior approval.

If your package arrives damaged, please photograph the outer packaging before opening it and, where possible, record an unboxing video to document the condition of the shipment. Please contact Pen Delights within 48 hours of delivery with your order details and photographs or videos showing the outer packaging, shipping label, inner packaging, and damaged item. Please retain the item and all packaging materials until the matter has been reviewed. Since many Pen Delights products are unique vintage pieces, an identical replacement may not always be available, but we will work with the customer to find an appropriate resolution

International customers are subject to the same return conditions outlined in this policy. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is caused by an error from Pen Delights. Any customs duties, taxes, or import charges paid during the original shipment or return shipment are the responsibility of the customer and are not refundable by Pen Delights.

Due to the unique nature of vintage and collectible writing instruments, direct exchanges may not always be possible. If an exchange request is made, Pen Delights will review the request based on item availability and the specific circumstances of the order.

Orders may be cancelled only before they have been dispatched. Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled and will be subject to the return conditions outlined in this policy.
